I'd like find the best 6 shot revolver for it's quality and price
1 for under $600 USD, and 1 for over $601.
I'm a simple person, so I won't understand much if you get too technical. All I know is that people think the Colt Python is nice, pricey, and has a poor cylinder or such. I don't know what to say, I just want what majority says is the best 6 shot revolver for under $600 USD, and know what majority says is the best for over $600 USD
Also which "IS" and "WAS" the best revolver manufacturer.
If it makes a difference, a Medium sized sized 6 inch barrel, is what I'd like to have.
PS. Is there a difference between Half Lug and Full Lug? besides what people think about it, I just think Full looks tougher, and half looks more "aerodynamic"
Here's something i forgot to mention, I'd like it to be accurate enough to hit something about 70 yards away, a 3 ft. tall 2 foot wide piece of a wood? maybe

is the Colt Python .357 magnum 4 inch barrel a good gun?
what is it used best for?

exploded view of colt python .357 magnum 4 inch?
if you have a link of a picture of the exploded view of the colt python .357 magnum 4 inch barrel please put it here.

I have a Colt Python .357 Magnum which is black and a friend of mine insists, over and over again, that I should have gotten it in chrome, because "it looks cooler". It was inherited anyway so its not as if I had a choice.
But I'd like to know more about the two options. Is one stronger, heavier, tarnished more easily?
Please provide a functional breakdown of the two options. Chrome vs Black... Facts not opinions please I've gotten enough of that from him.

Additionally, I've heard of 'blued' steal and am not sure if this is what I have. It looks entirely black to me but of course, I'm not too informed on this subject so any information regarding this would be appreciated as well.

I have a 6 inch Colt Python 357 Magnum, which is mint condition - it is gunmetal blue, has no scratch marks, nicks, or rust.

The serial number is 78, with the crest of an eagle to the left of it.

It is still in its original format and has been used very little.

My colt python 357 magnum six inch stainless steal vent ribbed double action wooden grips is in meant condition exept a small chip in left grip. It has only been fired six times.

Can you disable this gun by removing a "firing pin", and thereby make it a "wall display" instead of "weapon"? IF so, can that be easily repaired/fixed? IF not, how would you make one temporarily not usable? (ie make it a movie prop, then make it back into a usable weapon).

(I'm writing a novel where that is an issue, and want to be authentic with this part.)
Pathfind - It's a novel, so I'm not ruining a good gun. Just want accuracy!
Thanks, X!
Thanks Doc!
Butterfly wings: The story is my expertise, the small tiny itty bitty thing about the gun is not. That is why I am doing what all good writers do - research!

How bad is the recoil on a revolver firing a .454 Casull?

My current favorite handgun is the Colt Python .357 with a six inch barrell, I can't believe how accurate it is for a handgun and the kick is not bad to to me at all.

I'm a framing carpenter and have pretty tenacious grip, but I've heard horror stories that it has kicked hard enough to have the barrel come up and knock people unconscious.

I know its an expensive gun, I'm looking at the Ruger, but how hard does it kick, I read that its 52% more recoil than a .44 magnum, but I've only fired a .357 Magnum and like I said, its not to bad for me.

Can anyone give an example not just a number or percentage, ill take the numbers too, but I wanna know what it feels like, not just how many kilo jouls it produces, that I can "google"
Okay so maybe it is a dangerous leap, especially for that much money, I like my Colt python, does anyone own the Anaconda? That's a .44 magnum right? Is it a good gun? I really like my python, but its all I've ever shot for .357 mag so I can't really tell how good it actually is
Like firing a shotgun one handed? Yikes? I own a breach barrel shotgun and have only fired 3" double 00 magnums, I imagine in a life or death situation I could fire it one handed, but I don't think I wanna try.

in terms of speed, accuracy, and power?!

a .357 colt python revolver

or a .460 smith&wesson magnum revolver
the .460 is the XVR verison

I fired my Colt .357 Magnum Python and what happened was sort of like a small firecracker... when i opened the cylinder i could see that the bullet was stuck right at the beginning of the barrel (close to the trigger). why did this happen and how can i get it out? thank you for your help.

It has a 4" barrel, double action revolver, is made with nickel, and has a wooden handgrip. It is supposedly a limited edition and is not being made anymore.
