I am thinking about buying a used Coleman Taos trailer that does not have a heater. I would like to put one in. Is this possible or is that something that has to be installed from the start like an automatic transmission or A/C in a car?

I've made a flatbed trailer ready to customize for ?? it was an old Coleman camper pop-up.What weight will it?
tow. I've been trying to sell it on Craigslist and the 1st Q I get is how much weight can it hold...It's 14' from the 1.5" hitch to the back lights. It's 75" wide for 2/3 the length, then narrows to 43"at about 12' It's single axle with leaf-springs and 12" tires. The main frame is all still in-tact with a solid channel running both sides. I've put 3/4 ply for a deck. The 78' coleman registration states: VLF Class-AH, Type Veh-42C, CC/ALCO-31. I don't know what these letters mean. Is there some way to say It will hold at least ?? much weight?

the unit is charged and blowing 55 degrees. I live in a double wide about 2200 sq feet 1999. The furance is a coleman with 3 ton blower. In the winter I can maintain a good temp with the heater, but the a/c I cant. I have it set at 76 and its 83 in the house. The air is blowing out the vents but you cant feel it very strongly. We went under the trailer yesterday and noticed a lot of cold air blowing out under the furance. There is a lot of insulation under there and not knowing what we are doing we didnt want to tear anything apart. could we have that big of a air leak or do I need a new furance?
oh wow that was a lot of information! Great though, we had someone come out today to take a look at it we will be replaceing the duct work and moving the vents in the living rooms since right now they are located in the center of the rooms. Cost around $500 I was told.

I need this info for a 1997 coleman, westlake, pop up trailer

I have a '92 Coleman pop-up camper with a standard 7-pin connector. The trailer lights work fine (left, right, brake), except when I turn on the headlights in the tow vehicle, then nothing works. Additionally, I have a CO2/propane alarm in the camper that is blaring, but stops when I turn on the headlights. I am thinking I have a bad ground on the trailer with the running light circuit (brown), but I don't have access to any of the wiring. It's all hidden in the frame of the trailer. Does anyone have any ideas to help. AND additionally does anyone have a link to the wiring diagram for a '92 Coleman Rockwood camper trailer?
Actually, it's a '98 Coleman. And additionally, I think there's something wrong witht he CO2 detector, cause it's blaring when I hook up the battery. It goes off when I turn on the headlights, because they lose power.
Don't think it's the alarm, cause I wired it myself and I tested the wires before I connected it.
Figured it out! Bad ground on the vehicle side AND a bad pin connection on the trailer-side plug. Thanks all for your help!

My wife and I just bought our first Tent Trailer for our growing little family of three!!! Its a used 1994 Coleman/Fleetwood Chesapeake and is in great condition. No leaks luckily. I've set it up now twice, once when we bought it to look at it and once to do a deep clean so luckily i've got that figured out. I have towed a lot of boats in my life so the towing isn't the problem but once we get to where we are going I would love any help you can give me. I am an avid camper, but never done anything but tent camping. Here are my basic questions.

1. What are the must haves when camping in a tent trailer for 2 or 3 nights or more?

2. How long do most deep-cell batteries last if i'm running the furnace?

3. If my propane tank is full, how long will that last running the furnace at night and using to cook all 3 meals a day.

4. What are the fun extras that aren't must haves but make life easier and camping with a tent trailer more fun and enjoyable?

5. What pressure should my tires be when towing? Should the pressure be less if I'm towing off-road?

6. What is the best way to charge batteries when your not near a permanent power supply? (outlet)

Thanks for any help you can give us.

1996 Coleman Laredo tent trailer has an icebox but no fridge. How much of a pain would it be to install a fridge?

WEATHER NEWS (it's late because I didn't know it happened)

This happened, I believe, this year. I wish I could have included the pictures.

Up here in the Northern part of Michigan we just recovered from a historic event - may I even say a a?Weather Eventa of Biblical proportions - with an historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities, and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:
Obama did not come. FEMA did nothing. No one howled for the government. No one blamed the government. No one even uttered an expletive on TV.

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit. Our mayors did not blame Obama or anyone else. Our governor did not blame Obama a or anyone else, either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC did not visit - or even report on this category 5 snow storm.

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards. No one asked for a FEMA trailer house. No one looted. Nobody - I mean nobody - demanded the government do something. Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, no Bill O'Rielly, no Oprah, no Chris Mathews, and no Geraldo Rivera. No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Streisand, no Hollywood - types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water, sent out caravans of SUV's
to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars. The truck drivers pulled
people out of snow banks and did not ask for a penny. Local restaurants made food, and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snow - bound families. Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves and broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman
lanterns. We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is
a?work or diea. We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittina at home' checks.

Even though a category 5 blizzard of this scale has never fallen
this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

I hope this gets passed on. Maybe SOME people will get the message.
The world does not owe you a living.

Do you ever wonder how our ancestors ever survived with out all the government help we have today? ;-)

I have a mobile home Coleman furnace.I had a company transport from a mobile home park to another park. The gas guy turned on services. The transformer does not make noise when we flicked the switch. I had everything working well until the transporters moved it. The gas pilot is working but not a high flame. I called the owner he never got back with me to help me on his end. They could have cut the wire on the thermostat or when the transports dropped the trailer down and leveled it.The owner wired up the power supply from the out side main.It sparked Do you think that made a cause from the outside main or maybe he cut the wire that goes to my thermostat and its not getting any power from that end? I check the power to the transformer and it has power to the wires. Maybe the switch burned out from the spark he did. Could I jump any wires? What could it be from? Someone please help its getting COLD!

for a 1987 Coleman Chesapeake Pop Up Camper? We are having the hardest time finding it, and the thing on the camper has worn off...

I have a portable BBQ and coleman stove that I want to use with my pop up trailer I just purchased. The connectors are not the same on the BBQ / Coleman stove to allow it to connect to the trailer. Does anyone know if you can buy connectors? The BBQ / Coleman did not come with trailer.

small unit a foot by foot .won't run .gas going to it .how to fire this unit up.frig keeps the beer cold ,and stove works ,good steaks any way so ,

I rent a mobile home with an electric furnace (Coleman Evcon) Have had a repair man here on two seperate occasions. First was a burnt off wire on one of the heating elements (stick element). It blows out only luke warm air and runs for hours. He tested the elements with a voltage meter and tells me there is nothing wrong with them. Told me to block off all the fresh air vents in the trailer. Still makes no change in my heat. Something has to be wrong with it since it put out hot air until the wire burnt off. What could it be? Any ideas.

I

I know they used to make a small covered trailer for pulling behind small vehicles.

We're going camping for 2 weeks and I need to keep some food frozen until the beginning of the second week. I'm taking 20#'s of ribs, two foil pans of a potato casserole, and one frozen lasagna. The food will already be frozen solid, and we'll keep the cooler in the air conditioned trailer. I have a Coleman Extreme cooler. (The very large one, so room shouldn't be a problem) Thanks everyone.

I got the dealership to put on a trailer tow hitch package, they said it was the best one. I need to know if it can pull the tent trailer or not. will it be too heavy? The trailer is equipped with an anti-sway bar. I've already looked for answers at the dodge dealership website...but no answers.Lost the manual. Please help.

And now we have braced and are involved with #2 in less than 2 weeks!
